Ecology
- Rhodophyta are usually found in clean, fresh water in tropical marine environments. It is used to make nori in Japan and it is a multibillion dollar industry. Rhodophyta typically lives on smooth surfaces and up to 268 meters below sea level. A large majority of rhodophyta are parasitic; they transfer nutrients from the host plant they have attached to.
